OmniLife Simple API
Life insurance pricing your software can read.
Compare premiums across retail life insurers in one API call. Simple is built on OmniLife, the pricing engine Omnium has run for more than 12 years. A monthly fee includes your first 50 clients, then each extra client is charged at a rate that drops as you grow.
OmniLife's pricing, behind a smaller API.
OmniLife prices new-business life insurance for Australian advisers and platforms. It's thorough, and that thoroughness shows up as large request models and insurer-specific codes that take effort to integrate.
Simple puts that engine behind a smaller API. Describe the person you're insuring and the cover they need, and get back premiums, projections and feature comparisons.
-
Plain names, in and out
Covers, options and results use plain names, the same in the request and the response. There are no letter codes to look up.
-
Compare across insurers
One request prices a scenario across the insurers on your account, and returns each one's premium, product and cover breakdown.
-
Ready for AI agents
An MCP server exposes quoting, clients and billing as tools, and every error carries a stable code an agent can act on.
-
Pay per client, not per call
A monthly fee includes your first 50 clients. A client counts once, when you first service them, then is covered for 60 days, however many times you quote them in that window.
How it works
From credentials to premiums in four steps.
-
Get your credentials
Omnium sets up your account and gives you a client ID and secret. Exchange them for a token.
-
Add a client
Save the person you're insuring once: age or date of birth, gender, occupation, state, smoker status and income.
-
Describe the cover
Send the covers and options you want, such as Life, TPD, Trauma or Income Protection.
-
Read the results
Get premiums, projections or a feature comparison. Change the scenario and send it again as often as you like.

For developers
OAuth2, OpenAPI, MCP and stable error codes.
Authentication
OAuth2 client credentials. Exchange your client ID and secret at POST /api/auth/token for a bearer token that lasts an hour.
The spec
The full OpenAPI document is published at /openapi/v1.json, with a description on every field and worked examples for the common calls. Point your code generator, or your AI coding assistant, at it.
MCP for AI agents
Connect an MCP-capable agent to /mcp over streamable HTTP with the same token. It gets 13 tools covering suppliers, occupations, clients, quoting and billing.
Errors and stability
Every failure returns a problem document with a stable code to branch on, plus a correlation ID to quote to support. v1 only changes additively: new fields may appear, and nothing is removed or renamed without a new version.
Pricing
Pay for the clients you serve.
One monthly fee covers licensing, support, your API connection and your first 50 clients. Beyond that, the rate per client drops as you grow.
| Clients in a month | Rate |
|---|---|
| Monthly fee, including your first 50 clients | $500 |
| 51 to 100 | $8 per client |
| 101 to 300 | $6 per client |
| 301 and over | $5 per client |
All prices exclude GST. Each band is charged at its own rate: 120 clients in a month is $500 + (50 × $8) + (20 × $6) = $1,020.
Estimate your monthly bill
per month + GST
About $8.50 per client
What counts as a client?
A client counts once, when you first quote, project or research them. They're then covered for 60 days, so repeat calls in that window cost nothing, even if they cross into the next month.
Before you quote, the API can tell you whether a client is still covered, so an agent working through your book never has to guess what a call will cost.

What you'd be charged for this client
FAQ
Common questions.
What is a "client"?
The person being insured. Each one you quote, project or research is a client serviced for billing. The business using the API, meaning you, is never a client.
Do repeat quotes for the same person cost more?
No. A client is charged once when first serviced, and further quotes, projections or research calls for them in the next 60 days are free.
Which insurers are included?
Simple prices across the retail insurers available on your account. The supplier list the API returns is specific to you, so you always quote against what you can actually sell.
Are the premiums real?
Premiums come from the same pricing engine Omnium uses across its platforms, and are indicative. A final premium is always subject to the insurer's own application and underwriting.
Can an AI agent use it?
Yes. Simple has an MCP server at /mcp with 13 tools, and every error carries a stable code an agent can branch on.
What happens to client personal information?
Each client has a retention period: three years by default, extended whenever the client is serviced. When it ends, personal information is purged automatically. Billing records remain.
